The Opportunity
As Global Sustainability Market Engagement Manager, you will help the organisation systematically anticipate, understand, and respond to evolving customer and stakeholder sustainability expectations.
The role combines sustainability expertise with market and customer insight. You will develop structured and consistent approaches for managing sustainability-related requests, translate external signals into actionable business insights, and support customer-facing teams in strategic engagements.
How you'll make an impact:
Market & Customer Sustainability Intelligence
- Gather and structure sustainability expectations, requirements, and emerging priorities from customers and key stakeholders.
- Monitor relevant market developments, regulatory evolution, competitive trends, and recurring sustainability themes.
- Identify early signals, opportunities, and risks that may affect competitiveness, market access, and customer needs.
- Translate complex inputs into clear, actionable insights for strategic and commercial decision-making.
Sustainability Request & Response Process Development
- Develop and continuously improve a structured approach for managing sustainability-related customer and stakeholder requests.
- Define clear intake, prioritisation, coordination, escalation, and response pathways.
- Enable effective collaboration across Sustainability, Marketing & Sales, Portfolio, Product Management, Supply Chain, Communications, Legal, and other relevant functions.
Customer-Focused Sustainability Value
- Translate sustainability capabilities, initiatives, and performance into clear and customer-relevant business value.
- Support the development of sustainability value propositions and fact-based messages for customers and market stakeholders.
- Contribute, where relevant, to the assessment of sustainability-related value drivers, business benefits, and competitive differentiators.
- Help commercial and business teams communicate sustainability topics in a clear and business-oriented way.
Strategic Insight and Business Input
- Translate customer and market insights into input for sustainability strategy, materiality assessments, portfolio development, and innovation.
- Provide fact-based perspectives on evolving stakeholder expectations and their potential business implications.
- Support the identification of opportunities where sustainability can create customer value and contribute to long-term growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Enablement
- Act as a bridge between Sustainability and customer-facing business functions.
- Facilitate collaboration across functions and regions in a complex global organisation.
- Support capability building by providing practical guidance, tools, and frameworks for sustainability discussions with customers and stakeholders.
- Foster alignment while respecting established governance and decision-making responsibilities.
Your background
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in sustainability, strategic marketing, business development, product management, commercial strategy, market engagement, or related business functions.
- Strong understanding of sustainability topics relevant to industrial, infrastructure, energy, or technology markets.
- Experience working with customers, commercial teams, market-facing functions, or multiple internal stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect sustainability topics to customer needs, market opportunities, and strategic priorities.
- Experience developing value propositions, business cases, or value quantification approaches is an advantage.
- Proven ability to work across functions and regions within a complex global organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to structure complex or unstructured information and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
- Strategic and forward-looking mindset, with a collaborative and pragmatic approach.

The minimum salary for this position in the location specified is as follows: Italy: starting from 76,400 gross annual salary. Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico. The final offer will be based on candidate location, skills and qualifications, experience, and aligned with internal pay structures.
