About The Role

The Global Switch Service Engineer in London delivers professional engineering expertise for planned and reactive maintenance across CCTV, access control, intruder, and intercom systems. This full-time role, offering £40,000 to £45,000 annually, requires fault-finding proficiency on PC/network-based and analogue security setups, including large multi-site installations with digital recorders. You will handle varied high-end software packages while providing excellent customer service both internally and externally. Responsibilities span small-scale systems through complex networks, demanding a solid grasp of diverse security technologies. The position suits a technically adept individual who thrives on solving intricate problems and maintaining robust operational standards across client sites.

Your Role:

  • Provide professional engineering expertise and excellent internal and external customer service during the planned and reactive maintenance of variety of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder, Intercom Systems and other security solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in fault finding and repairs of varied selection of PC/Network based and analogue security systems with a working knowledge of different high end software packages.
  • Provide technical expertise in fault finding and repair with a variety of CCTV operating systems from small scale CCTV systems to large Multi-site installations with PC Based Digital Recorders.
  • Provide technical expertise in fault finding and repair with a variety of Access Control, Intruder, Intercom Systems operating systems from small scale to large Multi-site installations with PC Based front ends.
  • Have understanding of fibre optic transmission systems, LAN/WAN networks and radio telemetry systems to effectively remedy any faults. Liaise with higher grade engineers where required.
  • Provide emergency solutions when operating out of hours as specified on the departmental rota.
  • Collaborate with all parts of the business to ensure that the agreed scope of works is delivered in line with the customer’s expectations.
  • Participate in team meetings and actively contribute towards the business’ activities.
  • Strive to maximize personal development and performance and take active part in performance reviews and personal development plans.
  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge through internal and external training provision.
  • Operate according to the requirements of business-specific applications and processes and the broad application environments (e.g. order submission, stock control, timesheet submission, job closing, etc.)

  • NVQ 3 in Electronic Security or equivalent proven experience Knowledge of Access control / CCTV / Intercom / Intruder systems. (minimum of 4 Years)
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of digital electronics principles and systems
  • Health and Safety
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and other network fundamentals of UFE's (Unified Front End)

Desirable - (any or all)

  • CCTV – Synergy/Milestone/Genetec/FLIR/Eagle Eye/ProWatch/
  • ACS – Ccure/Lenel OnGuard & S2/Gallagher/CEM/PAC
  • Intruder – Honeywell / Texecom
  • Intercom - Commend
  • PSIM – Genetec/Cortech/
  • Recognised Qualification in H&S (IOSH/CSCS)
  • IPAF
  • Working at Height (Rooftop and Safety Access Certification)
  • EUSR
