The Opportunity
The Global Technical Marketing Expert - Pain and Internal Medicine reports to the Vice President Global Technical Experts, within our recently established Global Marketing and Technical Excellence (GMTE) function. As the Global Technical Marketing Expert, you will be the global subject matter expert, providing deep technical knowledge and insights, providing guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders, industry bodies, research institutions, and regulatory agencies, ensuring that contemporary scientific knowledge, accuracy and integrity are at the forefront of the category.
This role is required to have depth of credible knowledge and expertise to ensure that you are the primary technical authority within the category, ensuring scientific rigor, connecting the business to key opinion leaders (KOLs) and driving innovation to accelerate development and growth.
This role is remote and may be based within the US, the UK or EU
So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:
- Monitoring and interpreting scientific and industry trends and the competitive landscape, providing constant and consistent actionable business insights.
- Partnering with the Pain and Internal Medicine Category Lead on commercialization of pipeline products and BD opportunities through launch excellence.
- Providing technical input and KOL feedback to Dechra Research and Development (DRD) teams in consideration of category strategy, pipeline development and inline product lifecycle management.
- Developing data generation plans (Phase III, Phase IV, Outcomes Research) to build the value proposition for Dechra products.
- Communicating global category strategy and priorities to regional/local technical experts and enhance our capabilities by developing and sharing training materials to ensure appropriate knowledge required to drive sales and effective category use to the veterinary professionals.
- Leading category strategy, collaborating with the GMTE Category Lead and DRD Category Efficacy Lead and other enterprise-wide key stakeholders in commercial functions to define the technical strategy for the category and shape the long-term portfolio roadmap.
- Partnering with External Innovation (EI) and Business and Corporate Development (B&CD) to identify and evaluate emerging scientific advancements and technologies that may strategically enhance the product portfolio and provide a competitive edge. Provide technical due diligence for potential business development opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions.
- Leading the development of technical positioning, messaging, and claims for new product launches in collaboration with marketing teams, incorporating market research and KOL insights into the launch planning process to accelerate acceptance of market position of product.
- Leading a publication strategy throughout product development and commercialization, that supports and amplify product (and portfolio) position and value.
- Designing global technical training and guidance for technical and commercial teams, ensuring alignment on product differentiation and value proposition.
- Partnering with regulatory teams to navigate technical requirements and optimize product approvals across key markets.
- Speaking at global and regional scientific and industry events, representing the company's technical leadership in the category.

Qualifications
Here at Dechra we pride ourselves on being an inclusive employer and we embrace candidates from all walks of life. We're particularly excited to hear from those who have/are:
- An advanced degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Microbiology, Pharmacology, or a related field.
- Experience in a technical, scientific, and/or R&D role within an animal health pharmaceutical company.
- Global experience in business development or commercial strategy within animal health, pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
- Experience collaborating with commercial, marketing, regulatory teams, research institutions and regulatory bodies in a global setting.
- Experience building strong KOL relationships and networks that support product development and launches.
- Strong understanding of global market dynamics, industry regulations, and competitive landscapes within the category.
- Deep understanding of the global animal health market including key therapeutic areas and regulatory frameworks and global commercial dynamics.
- Experience in medical affairs support of products/portfolios at a regional or global level.
- Product launch experience that drives speed to market and maximization of adoption and penetration at launch.
- Ability to travel regionally and globally as required.
