The Greater Manchester Care Record (GMCR)
The Greater Manchester Care Record (GMCR) is a key digital infrastructure asset for Greater Manchester, supporting the safe and appropriate sharing of health and care information across partner organisations to improve care delivery, enable service transformation, and support system priorities.
We are now seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to provide service management of this high-profile service across Greater Manchester. The role holder will interface closely with the NHS GM Product Team and colleagues in partner organisations, including NHS providers, localities, digital, clinical and operational stakeholders, and other key partners.
Role Overview
The GMCR Service Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the effective day to day running, coordination and continuous improvement of the GMCR service. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong operational background and an understanding of digital health services, information governance and multi-organisation service delivery. This role will coordinate service management arrangements to ensure the GMCR operates effectively, with clear processes, stakeholder engagement, escalation routes and reporting in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the GMCR service
- Responsible for the day to day service delivery of the GMCR service
- Identify emerging risks and issues relating to the operational aspects of the GMCR service and develop mitigations
- Provide service reports for GM and relevant governance
- Responsibility to maintain appropriate documentation through all phases
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and operating documentation
- Work closely with the communications service group and relevant partners to ensure operational plans are acceptable to public, stakeholders and users
- Analyse and present highly complex information from a wide range of sources to groups or staff members
- Attend stakeholder meetings, exhibitions, training events, etc.
- Co-design service delivery solutions that underpin and ensure successful delivery of the GMCR service
- Engage with critical stakeholders, leading workshops and ensuring any risks are identified promptly
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate the exchange of information and achieve service priorities
- Ensure that the perspectives, needs, and preferences of patients and the public are considered in service planning and design
- Ensure service activity is established in line with best practice using scaled plans, identification of critical paths and reports
