GMI Migration Project Manager

Hays Technology is partnering with a leading global financial services organisation in the recruitment of an experienced GMI Migration Project Manager to join a leading global investment bank on an initial 7-month contract in London.

This is a high-profile programme focused on the migration from GMI to a new strategic platform within the futures and derivatives business. You'll be responsible for driving the project from planning and design through to migration, cutover and post-implementation support, working across Front Office, Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance and Compliance.

This role will suit an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in futures and derivatives operations, system migrations and vendor-led transformation programmes.

Key Responsibilities

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale GMI migration programme.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, milestones, dependencies and governance frameworks.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across Trading, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Finance.
  • Support the creation and execution of migration runbooks and cutover plans.
  • Drive operational readiness activities, ensuring smooth transition to the new platform.
  • Manage project risks, issues and dependencies, escalating where appropriate.
  • Oversee functional, regression and UAT testing to ensure successful implementation.
  • Validate data migration, trade bookings, reconciliations and downstream reporting processes.
  • Work closely with external vendors and internal technology teams throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Deliver regular project updates and executive-level reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory and audit requirements throughout the programme.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
