Go Backend Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Go Backend Software Engineer to help design, build, and operate backend services and infrastructure APIs for a large‑scale, sovereign cloud platform. You’ll work across cloud‑native distributed systems, Kubernetes, databases, and CI/CD tooling to ensure a secure, scalable, and highly available environment.

Freelance cooperation

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: until 31.11.2026, with the possibility of extension for an additional 6-12 months

Requirements:

  • Really strong experience with Go
  • Experience designing and operating high-throughput, large-scale APIs or microservices
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, networking, and database fundamentals
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, observability, and CI/CD
  • Ability to troubleshoot performance, reliability, and production issues
  • Good command of English (German is a plus)

  • Experienced in using AI tools in day-to-day workflow

Main responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable backend services in Go
  • Improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Build APIs and integrations between distributed components
  • Review code and contribute to technical design decisions
