Golang Engineer (Backend)
Location: UK (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract
Wipro is seeking experienced Senior Golang Engineers to join our engineering team delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes within the banking and financial services sector.
This role focuses on designing, building and operating cloud-native backend services that support high-volume, real-time transaction processing. You'll work within agile teams to develop scalable microservices, event-driven architectures and resilient distributed systems using modern engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend applications using Golang
- Build scalable APIs, microservices and event-driven solutions
- Develop and support distributed systems handling high-throughput transactions
- Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, SRE and Platform Engineering teams
- Implement CI/CD, observability and DevSecOps best practices
- Support production systems, performance optimisation and operational resilience

Required Skills
- Strong commercial experience with Golang
- Microservices and distributed systems architecture
- Event-driven architecture using Kafka and/or RabbitMQ
- Kubernetes and Docker
- PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- REST APIs and cloud-native development
- CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices
- Experience working on highly available production platforms
Desirable Skills
- Banking, Financial Services or Payments experience
- AWS, Azure or GCP
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- ISO 20022, Open Banking or FinTech exposure
- OAuth2, JWT and API security standards
- Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
