Golf Club Operations Coordinator
Location: Welwyn Garden City Golf Club
Reports to: General Manager
Employment: Full Time – 35 hours per week
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:30am–5:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Salary: From £24,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Additional Hours: Occasional weekend availability for major competitions and club events
Previous Golf Club Experience Essential - Please do not apply if you have not previously worked in a golf club.
We are looking for someone who already understands how a busy golf club operates and can hit the ground running. This is a predominantly office-based golf operations role with responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of tee sheets, competitions, golf days, societies, events and club administration. You will need strong knowledge of golf, excellent organisational and office skills, confidence using club systems, and the ability to take ownership and get things done.
About the Role
Working closely with the General Manager, Professional Shop and wider club team, you will help ensure the day-to-day operation of the club runs efficiently.
Golf Operations & Competitions
- Set up and manage tee sheets for competitions, visitors, societies and club events.
- Administer club competitions, draws, knockouts, matches and major competition days.
- Coordinate the golfing calendar and ensure accurate, timely communication with members and relevant teams.
- Work closely with the Professional Shop to ensure golf operations run smoothly.
- Maintain accurate records across club management and competition systems.
Golf Days, Societies & Events
- Manage golf day and society bookings from initial enquiry through to delivery.
- Coordinate tee times, player numbers, catering requirements, payments and event details.
- Maintain accurate booking and CRM records.
- Liaise with the Professional Shop, catering and clubhouse teams to coordinate delivery.
- Support major club competitions and events, including occasional weekend attendance.

Club Office & Operational Coordination
- Take ownership of day-to-day operational administration within the club office.
- Manage enquiries, bookings, correspondence and operational requests.
- Keep club systems, CRM and operational information accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate information and activity across club departments.
- Support the General Manager with schedules, reports and operational requirements.
- Assist with routine financial administration where required, including invoicing, payment follow-up and maintaining accurate records.
- Resolve routine issues independently and escalate where appropriate.
- Work closely with and provide cover for the Office Administrator to ensure continuity across the club.
Membership & Visitor Support
- Support membership administration, renewals, onboarding and member records.
- Manage visitor golf enquiries and bookings.
- Provide an efficient and professional point of contact for members and visitors.
- Ensure relevant member and visitor information is communicated accurately and promptly.
Club Communications
- Keep members informed about competitions, golf operations and club activities.
- Maintain relevant updates across the website, ClubNet App, digital noticeboard and other club communication channels.
- Provide occasional support with email, social media and marketing activity.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience working in a golf club – applications without golf club experience will not be considered.
- Good knowledge of golf and a genuine interest in the game.
- Practical understanding of day-to-day golf club operations.
- Experience with tee sheets, competitions, golf bookings, societies, events and/or membership activities.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Strong office and administrative skills.
- Confidence using club management, CRM or database systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and use initiative.
- Confident and professional communication skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership and see tasks through.
Desirable
- Experience using golf club management, tee sheet or competition software.
- Experience administering competitions, knockouts, matches or handicapping.
- Experience coordinating golf days, societies and events.
- Experience with finance administration, invoicing or accounts support.
- Experience using CRM and membership systems.
About You
You will be organised, methodical and comfortable working at the operational centre of a busy golf club. You will understand the importance of getting the detail right – whether that's a tee sheet, competition, society booking, event or member communication – and will be confident taking responsibility for tasks from start to finish.
Most importantly, you will already understand the golf club environment and be ready to hit the ground running.
