Sandy Lodge Golf Club is an established inland links golf course located northwest of London, on the border of Hertfordshire and Middlesex, offering convenient access from the city and surrounding countryside. Founded in 1910, the club benefits from a rich heritage and a strong reputation within the golfing community. Designed by six-time Open Champion Harry Vardon, the course provides a distinctive and high-quality playing experience. The club is known for its welcoming atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and commitment to providing excellent service to members and guests.
Role Description
The Golf Services Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Sandy Lodge Golf Club in Northwood. The role involves overseeing daily golf operations, including managing golf societies and golf days, administering club competitions, tee time bookings, coordinating member and guest play, and ensuring the smooth running of the practice facilities. The Golf Services Manager will supervise the driving range team and support the delivery of golf events and competitions, and maintain high standards of customer service. Responsibilities also include liaising with the professional shop, greenkeeping team, and clubhouse staff to ensure a cohesive experience, handling queries and feedback, and supporting administrative tasks related to golf services, such as reporting and record-keeping.

Qualifications

- Experience in golf operations or club management, with a strong understanding of golf etiquette, rules of golf, competition formats, and member services.
- Customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with members, guests, and colleagues.
- Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to coordinate tee sheets, events, and staff schedules efficiently.
- Leadership and team supervision experience, with the capability to motivate, train, and support the driving range team.
- Proficiency with booking systems and basic IT skills (e.g., MS Office, email, and Intelligent Golf club management software).
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to address operational issues and member concerns promptly and effectively.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and peak golfing times, as required by club operations.
- Previous experience in golf operations is highly desirable; relevant professional golf or club management qualifications are an advantage.
