About The Role

At Sulzer Birmingham Service Centre, we repair, refurbish and overhaul critical rotating equipment that keeps essential industries running. From pumps and motors to compressors, generators and turbines, our teams deliver world-class engineering solutions for customers across the UK and beyond.

Based at our 82,000 sq. ft Birmingham Centre of Excellence, you'll work from one of the most advanced service and repair facilities in the UK. Opened in 2021 following a major investment, the site combines cutting-edge digital technologies, advanced machining capabilities and additive manufacturing, operating 24/7 to support customers when reliability matters most.

We're looking for a highly organised and computer-savvy Goods In Controller to take ownership of all incoming deliveries, ensuring goods are received, inspected, recorded and stored accurately. You'll be the crucial link between suppliers, stores and production teams, helping ensure materials and components are available when needed and that inventory records remain accurate at all times.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
