Goods Inwards Operative

Hainault, Essex

£35,689.68

Monday to Saturday 54hrs
Hours: 0800 – 1700 / 0600 – 1500 (Saturday)

We are seeking an experienced Goods Inwards Operative to join us as we continue to strengthen and expand our business.

Handling goods inwards operations, including receiving deliveries, unloading, checking, labelling, stock rotation and storage, ensuring all products are accurately processed and stored in accordance with company procedures and food safety standards.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Receiving and unloading deliveries of chilled, frozen and ambient products, including meat, packaging and sundries
  • Checking deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation to ensure accuracy
  • Inspecting incoming goods for quality, temperature compliance and any signs of damage
  • Barcoding, labelling and accurately recording all incoming stock
  • Rotating stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles
  • Storing products safely within their designated warehouse locations
  • Operating a counterbalance forklift to unload and move stock safely
  • Maintaining accurate stock records using warehouse management systems
  • Reporting any discrepancies, damaged goods or quality issues
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the warehouse and storage areas
  • Shunting Vehicles in Yard

We are looking for applicants with the following skills, attributes, and experience:

  • Previous experience in a Goods Inwards or warehouse environment, preferably within the catering, food manufacturing or meat industry
  • Familiarity with meat cuts and chilled/frozen food handling
  • Current Counterbalance Forklift Licence
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy items
  • Competent in using warehouse management systems
  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent in performance
