THE ROOF GARDENS
The Roof Gardens is a social club in the sky, 100 feet above the streets of Kensington. Close to an acre of private gardens with views across London to the horizon, The Roof Gardens is a new generation members club.
A place of escape, bursting with wildflowers, olive and mulberry trees, grassy lawns and hidden nooks. An Art Deco gem created in 1938, The Roof Gardens has a legendary legacy. The Roof Gardens’ community is united by open-mindedness, optimism and kindness, not defined by background.
The Role
We are looking for a Goods Receiver to join us at The Roof Gardens. As a pivotal member of our BOH team, you will be overseeing the delivery and vetting of all suppliers that are brought into the business.
This role will be responsible for implementing day-to-day goods receiving functions, so you’ll be involved with every department in the business but most regularly with the F&B departments. You will need to have a forensic attention to detail and be able to build rapport with those delivering goods to our business so you can manage relationships, handle difficult situations as they arise, and make sure they comply with our strict delivery windows so as not to upset our neighbours!
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
Operations, & Service
- Ensure the seamless flow of products, food, drink, equipment and services to all areas of our operation to protect the member/guest experience.
- Liaise with porters and the wider building management teams to move goods as they arrive on site.
- Be part of the F&B team that delivers a 5 star rating food hygiene rating across all departments.
Quality Control
- Inspect and check any products or equipment The Roof Gardens purchase and is delivered to the premises.
- Sign delivery notes, log invoices, challenge inaccurate orders and liaise with suppliers for missing or late deliveries.
- Maintain inventories, flagging over or under ordering as it occurs and ensure a FIFO system is in place and being followed.
- Weigh fresh foods as they arrive to ensure accurate fulfilment of orders from our food suppliers e.g. spot checks on weight of a Dover Sole, for example.
- Record temperatures on high risk food items and keeping appropriate records and tags.
- Work with the Stock Control team to establish quality control and ensure that bought stock meets company standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
