Duck & Waffle is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Goods Receiver to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of stock control, organisation, and operational support.
As a Goods Receiver, you will play a key role in ensuring all deliveries are received accurately, stored correctly, and processed efficiently to support the smooth running of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify deliveries against purchase orders, pending order sheets, and delivery notes to ensure the correct products and quantities are received.
- Inspect all deliveries to ensure products meet required quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate stock rotation procedures, ensuring a strict First In, First Out (FIFO) approach for perishable goods.
- Keep all storage areas clean, organised, and free from potential hazards.
- Reject or return any products that are incorrect, damaged, faulty, or below the required standard.
- Communicate shortages, discrepancies, and missed deliveries to operational teams, escalating significant issues to the Purchasing Manager.
- Raise purchase requests based on established par stock levels to ensure continuity of supply, particularly for chemicals and essential operational items.
- Process delivery notes and invoices within the purchasing system, ensuring all costs are allocated accurately to the appropriate departments.
- Manage the locker and uniform room, ensuring the safe storage of team members' belongings.
- Issue and maintain staff uniforms as required.

Skills & Requirements
- Good spoken and written English communication skills.
- Flexible availability to work varying shifts as required.
- Basic product and stock control knowledge.
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, warehouse, or similar environment is advantageous, but not essential.
- Basic understanding of manual handling procedures and workplace safety.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
