About Okam
Okam is building the search agency of the future. We're 18 months old, growing month on month, and we serve a market nobody has properly served before: businesses that need serious Google Ads expertise but have been priced out of it.
The agency model is broken. Margins are being squeezed, new business is hard, and most agencies are shrinking. We're seeing the opposite. We charge a flat monthly fee and deliver the kind of work you'd normally pay five times as much for.
How? We've built a unique operating system. Not a tool or a dashboard: a full proprietary OS that lets us deliver best-in-class Google Ads across hundreds of clients without the layers, hierarchy and overhead of a traditional agency. It's live, it's working, and it's what lets a small team run a book of clients that would normally need a department.
What we need now is someone to run Google Ads accounts to the highest standard across a wide range of clients.
The role - Google Ads Manager
You run Google Ads accounts. That's the job. Not pitching, not building reporting decks, not sitting on client calls all day. Our operating system takes care of most of what eats an account manager's week at a normal agency, so your time goes on the accounts themselves.
What that means in practice:
- Well-run accounts: Every account you touch is well structured, deliberate and defensible. Nothing in there by accident. Every campaign, bid strategy and keyword is there for a reason you can explain.
- A reason for every decision: You don't change things because Google recommended it or because it's been a while. You look at the data, form a view, act on it, and can say afterwards what you expected to happen and whether it did.
- Always looking for the next move: An account hitting target isn't finished. You're constantly looking for what's being missed: search terms, structure, budget in the wrong place, a test that hasn't been run. Performers get the next move, not maintenance.
- Diligence, every week: Standards don't slip on your accounts. The checks get done, the details get noticed, and small problems get fixed before they become big ones.
- Problems come with answers: When something's off, the Head of Performance hears it from you first, with a diagnosis and a recommended fix, not a flag.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
This is a hands-on role. You'll spend most of your week in accounts, making tactical decisions and implementing them yourself.
Who you are
- You believe automation and AI are how agencies win from here, and you want to be at one that's actually doing it.
- Total buy-in. You think this model is the future and you want to be part of building it.
- Sharp, diligent and ambitious. You want to be part of building something that changes how agencies work, not just hold down a job at one.
- Genuine hands-on Google Ads expertise. You've run a book of accounts yourself, across Search, Shopping and Performance Max. You know best practice, and you know when to break from it because a client's situation calls for something different.
- Comfortable with a lot of accounts. You're organised, you work to a process, and you don't let things slip.
- 2–3 years running Google Ads accounts, agency-side or in-house, with real budget and real targets attached.
- A strong writer. Most of our client communication is written, not on calls. You can explain a decision, a result or a problem clearly and briefly in plain English, and hold your ground in writing when the data says you should.
- You default to diagnosis and solutions, not updates and flags.

How we'll measure it
- Performance against target across your book
- Retention of your clients
- Quality and consistency of the work, week in, week out
- How rarely problems on your accounts reach the Head of Performance before you've raised them
What you get
- A role at a new breed of agency, running on its own operating system, 18 months in and accelerating.
- Scope that grows with the business. We're small and growing fast, so the people who prove themselves now will be running things in two years.
- 4.5 day working week.
- A senior team and a Head of Performance who'll push you to get better, with no layers in between.
- Salary of £35k–£40k depending on experience, reviewed as the business scales.
- Autonomy over where you work.
- A proper laugh along the way.
How to apply
Send us two short answers, a paragraph each:
- Pick one thing that separates a well-run Google Ads account from an average one. Why do so few accounts actually have it, and what would it take to make it standard across a whole book of clients?
- What do Google Ads agencies look like in 2030?
One thing on AI. We use LLMs more heavily and more creatively than almost any agency you'll come across, and we'll expect you to as well. But this bit is about you: how you think and what you actually believe. We run applications through AI detection and won't consider answers that have clearly been generated for you.
This role is UK-based and requires an existing right to work in the UK. We're not able to sponsor visas.
