Mindful Surrey Google Ad Grants Volunteer

Mindful Surrey has been in the Google Ad Grants programme for over three years, with a daily budget of $329. We have about 50 site visits a day. We want to improve our ads so as to help more people with their mental health.

What Difference Will You Make?

We are looking for someone to help us promote mindfulness meditation courses and events, to help people have calmer, happier lives. Our sessions are delivered live, online, and in-person (in Dorking, Surrey). We offer free and discounted sessions to people on low incomes throughout the UK. This is something that is greatly appreciated by people who are struggling and unable to pay for help.

This opportunity could change people's lives. Mental health has rarely been such an issue for so many, and Mindful Surrey UK works to support adults and children, mostly in the UK. By improving our ads, you would help us contribute to a greater number of people of all ages. The Google Ad Grants programme is a great opportunity, one which makes a big difference to our online presence. By working with us, you would have a major impact on helping people reduce stress, manage anxiety, cope with addictive behaviours, improve sleep, and lead calmer, happier lives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What Are We Looking For?

Our ideal volunteer is someone experienced at using Google Ads and ideally the constraints and opportunities that are in the Google Ad Grants Programme. We want to improve our ad relevance and keyword quality scores. The person does not need experience or understanding of mindfulness meditation nor mental health issues, but an appreciation of the importance of mental health is important.

What Will You Be Doing?

We are looking for a Google Ads Grant expert to support us by setting up and maintaining our Google Ads account. The volunteer will work with our director, Catherine Nasskau, who will help the volunteer to get to know our charity, our users, and our goals. We currently have 4 campaigns, 13 adgroups, and a long list of keywords. We are particularly keen to improve our use of keywords and negative keywords.

The volunteer will review our existing grant and AdWords, make recommendations, and implement changes to our current campaigns. They will possibly edit our existing ads, write ad copy for new ones, and maintain campaigns.

After this initial work, the volunteer will continue to maintain our Google Ads, logging in on a weekly basis, to ensure we don’t lose our grant. They will report back monthly on how the campaigns are doing and work with Catherine to develop tactics to improve click throughs and conversions.

We need help from an expert who can not only run our Google Ads but can also make sure we understand the work and any other steps we should take to maximise the value of the Google Grant.
