Job Role: Google Cloud Champion (Pre-Sales & Delivery Leadership)

Location: London, UK

About the Job you are considering:

Are you a Google Cloud leader who can inspire a client during a pitch and successfully guide them through implementation?

Capgemini Financial Services is looking for a high-impact GCP Cloud Champion to join our Google Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) in London, UK. This is a comprehensive, client-facing role that spans the entire lifecycle of client engagement. You will act as the face of Capgemini’s GCP capabilities—interfacing directly with marquee Financial Services clients to pitch and win new services business, and subsequently leading the high-level architecture and technical delivery of those solutions.

This role requires a rare blend of commercial acumen, strategic advisory, and hands-on delivery oversight. You will bridge the gap between what is promised in the sales cycle and what is successfully deployed in production for major banking, capital markets, and insurance clients.

Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role:

  • Pre-Sales & Origination: Partner with account teams to lead pre-sales technical discoveries, author compelling proposals (RFPs), and pitch innovative GCP solutions that drive new revenue streams.
  • Architectural Delivery Leadership: Serve as the Lead/Principal Architect on strategic accounts, overseeing the high-level design, migration strategy, and successful implementation of complex GCP environments.
  • Executive Advisory: Act as a trusted, long-term advisor to client CIOs, CTOs, and Cloud Directors, seamlessly shifting from high-level roadmap strategy to delivery health reviews.
  • Commercial Asset Creation: Design and productize reusable GCP solution offerings tailored to Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Payments, Capital Markets, and Insurance verticals.
  • CoE Strategy & Investment: Provide strategic direction for Capgemini’s internal financial investments into GCP solutions, ensuring they align with actual client delivery trends.
  • Team Governance: Guide, mentor, and structurally lead a diverse, global team of GCP architects and engineers from initial blueprint through to production go-live.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
