Role Overview:
Owision is seeking an experienced Google Workspace Technical Consultant to support the design, implementation, migration, configuration, optimisation, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise Google Workspace environments. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical expertise across the Google Workspace ecosystem, working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, security functions, project management, and third-party suppliers. The role will require a strong understanding of enterprise collaboration platforms, identity and access management, security, data migration, integration, and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical consultancy and subject-matter expertise across Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Drive, Shared Drives, Google Calendar, Google Meet, Google Chat, Google Groups, and associated administration services.
- Design, configure, implement, and optimise Google Workspace solutions in accordance with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Support and execute enterprise Google Workspace migration programmes, including mailbox, calendar, contacts, files, permissions, shared data, and collaboration workloads.
- Undertake migrations from legacy or alternative platforms, including Microsoft 365/Exchange and other enterprise collaboration environments, where required.
- Configure and administer the Google Admin Console, organisational units, groups, policies, user lifecycle processes, domains, applications, and service settings.
- Support identity and access management (IAM) requirements, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), directory synchronisation, user provisioning, and integration with enterprise identity platforms.
- Implement and maintain appropriate Google Workspace security, governance, data protection, retention, and compliance controls.
- Develop scripts and automation, where appropriate, using tools such as Google Apps Script, GAM, APIs, and relevant command-line or automation technologies.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, including solution designs, configuration documents, migration plans, implementation procedures, operational guides, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Support testing, cutover, deployment, hypercare, and transition into BAU support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience of Google Workspace administration and enterprise implementation, preferably with experience within the Energy & Utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of identity, authentication, SSO, MFA, directory services, user provisioning, and access management.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace security, compliance, information governance, retention, and data protection capabilities.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID would be advantageous, particularly within migration environments.
- Experience with Google Workspace APIs, Google Apps Script, GAM or other scripting/automation technologies would be advantageous.

Experience:
- Candidate to have at least a minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably with a level of experience within the energy and utilities sector.
- Demonstrable experience working as a Google Workspace Technical Consultant, Google Workspace Engineer, Collaboration Engineer, Cloud Consultant, or in a comparable technical role.
- Proven experience delivering Google Workspace implementations, migrations, upgrades, transformations, or optimisation programmes.
Soft Skills:
- Problem-Solving & Detail Orientation: A detail-oriented and methodical approach combined with strong analytical problem-solving skills to anticipate technical bottlenecks, investigate root causes, and resolve complex migration, configuration, integration, and security issues.
- Stakeholder Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams including architecture, infrastructure, cyber security, service management, application, project, and business functions.
Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):
- Google Workspace Administrator or equivalent Google professional accreditation.
- Relevant Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, or identity and security certifications would be beneficial for hybrid or migration environments.
- ITIL, Agile/Scrum, PRINCE2, or other recognised delivery/service-management certification would be advantageous.
