Are you an experienced committee, governance or secretariat professional looking for a varied role within a respected membership body?
We are partnering with a leading UK-based professional membership organisation to recruit a Governance & EDI Officer on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation that champions its sector through education, professional development, advocacy and community engagement.
The Role
Reporting to the Governance & EDI Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation's governance framework and committee infrastructure, while also contributing to a range of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
Working closely with trustees, senior leaders, committee chairs and volunteer members, you will ensure governance meetings are effectively administered and that decisions, actions and records are accurately maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Full committee and secretariat administration, including agendas, papers, chair briefings and meeting coordination.
- Organising and supporting virtual and in-person committee, panel and board meetings.
- Producing accurate minutes and action logs within agreed timescales.
- Building effective relationships with committee chairs, trustees, directors and volunteers.
- Supporting nominations, succession planning and induction processes.
- Assisting with the review and maintenance of governance policies and terms of reference.
- Managing conflict of interest records and governance documentation.
- Supporting a range of EDI programmes, initiatives and events.
- Providing wider administrative support to the Governance and EDI function.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience supporting committees, boards, trustees or governance functions.
- Strong minute-taking and report-writing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience building relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A professional, discreet and confidential approach.
