Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Governance Assistant for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £21.77/hour (PAYE). This role will be a hybrid-based role with two to three days a month in the Edinburgh office.
Responsibilities
- Leading on Secretariat duties to the Board and its Committees.
- Provide line management responsibilities to two staff supporting the Board, Committees, and Executive diaries, with responsibility for covering their roles during absence.
- Organising and preparing meetings and events, prioritising tasks, and coordinating activity.
- Drafting detailed and accurate meeting minutes for the Board and its Committees.
- Liaising with other departments to ensure the flow of information related to Board and Senior Management Team decision-making.
- Assessing, triaging and directing information flows to support informed decision-making in a rapidly changing environment.

- Experience in planning, leading, and supporting meetings from preparation to follow-up, including agenda setting, facilitation, minute-taking, and action tracking.
- Remaining professional when handling complex or sensitive matters.
- Experience in minute taking for Board Meetings
