MARGATRON CIC is seeking a Governance Advisor / Company Secretary
MARGATRON CIC is seeking a Governance Advisor / Company Secretary to finalize board appointments, structure founder DRO compliance/legal shielding, execute bank mandates, and ensure high-level AML grant readiness for our inclusive STEM & adaptive racing arena in Kent.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced governance professional, legal advisor, chartered secretary, or Non-Executive Director to help solidify our corporate structure and ensure total grant compliance.
Essential Qualities & Experience
Corporate Governance & CIC Frameworks
- Strong working knowledge of UK company law, CIC structures, board roles, and Companies House procedures (including AP01 statutory director appointments).

Insolvency & Founder Protection
- Specific understanding or experience with UK Insolvency Service guidelines—specifically advising on Debt Relief Order (DRO) compliance, legal shielding, and structuring founder operational roles to stay 100% compliant.
AML & Due Diligence
- Experience with pre-emptive Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) standards to ensure institutional grant funding and corporate donations are audit-ready.
Financial Controls & Banking
- Practical knowledge of setting up dual-authorization bank mandates and spending thresholds.
Community & Values
- A passion for SEND inclusion, disability sports parity, green-tech STEM education, and regional regeneration.

What will you be doing?
We are preparing for major capital grant applications and local authority partnerships for MARGATRON—a flagship inclusive STEM academy, adaptive electric racing venue, and kinetic sports arena in Kent.
We need an experienced Governance Lead / Voluntary Company Secretary to oversee our corporate structure across MARGATRON CIC and parent entity Broadstairs 5 Limited.

Key Responsibilities

Board Filings & Appointments
Execute official Companies House AP01 filings for incoming statutory directors.

Founder Legal Shielding & DRO Compliance
Audit and structure the Lead Founder's operational role (Lead Founder & Brand Manager) to ensure 100% compliance with UK Insolvency Service Debt Relief Order (DRO) guidelines, creating a clear exit/discharge roadmap.

AML & Due Diligence Pre-Screening
Establish pre-emptive Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) standards so all grant funding and corporate donations flow strictly through vetted corporate accounts.

Banking & Mandate Controls
Execute bank signatory updates and dual-authorization spending controls across both entity accounts.

Governance Advisory
Provide high-level guidance on CIC Key 20 compliance, Charity Commission public benefit benchmarks, and corporate risk management frameworks.
You will work directly with Lead Founder Ajay Stannard and our incoming executive board to ensure our legal and governance foundations are completely bulletproof from day one.
