Senior Governance Officer

We are currently partnering with a reputable Housing Association in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Senior Governance Officer to join their growing team on a 12 – 18 month fixed-term contract (FTC) to cover maternity leave.

This is a full-time position with a salary band of up to £47,000 per annum and the start date is subject to notice. The role requires 2 days per week in the office and 3 days per week can be worked from home.

Duties

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Supporting the Head of Governance and Assurance in all matters relating to governance, assurance, policy oversight and integration activity arising from a merger with another Housing Association
• Managing and overseeing the work of governance support colleagues
• Facilitating and servicing board and committee meetings and other sessions (some of which may be held in the evening), including preparing meeting packs and minute taking
• Supporting the effective administration of the boards and committees including agenda and meeting planning, resolutions and writing reports for the Chief Officers, boards and committees on governance and assurance matters
• Undertaking analysis of compliance and performance in relation to governance matters, including self-assessments of compliance against applicable regulatory standards and codes, and analysis of the effectiveness of board and committees
• Supporting and facilitating the business to maintain an up-to-date and robust policy estate. Ensuring policies reflect best practice
• Supporting board and committee member succession planning, recruitment, induction, training and appraisals
