Governance & Risk Coordinator

Salary Range: £30k-£35k

About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing clean energy and infrastructure company delivering sustainable transport and energy solutions across the UK. With significant investment backing and ambitious expansion plans, the business is developing a nationwide network of critical infrastructure that supports the transition to low-carbon mobility, including public EV charging.

Operating across multiple regions, the organisation is committed to providing reliable, accessible, and high-quality infrastructure that supports communities, businesses, and the UK's net zero ambitions. Customer experience, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance sit at the heart of its growth strategy, alongside continued investment in technology, resilience, and long-term infrastructure development.

Job Profile

The Governance & Risk Coordinator supports the effective oversight, governance, and operational resilience of critical infrastructure assets, with a particular focus on EV charging operations within a broader clean energy environment.

Working closely with operational, technical, and compliance teams, the role is responsible for strengthening governance processes, maintaining risk and compliance frameworks, and ensuring infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant UK regulations and industry standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure, improving governance processes, and supporting operational resilience within a rapidly growing infrastructure business.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Network Operations, responsibilities include:

Governance

  • Support governance frameworks across infrastructure operations, ensuring clear accountability between internal teams, contractors, and delivery partners.
  • Maintain governance documentation, including operational responsibilities, asset ownership, and compliance records.
  • Maintain and develop the corporate risk register, with particular focus on operational and infrastructure risks such as:
    • Network availability and service performance
    • Asset reliability and equipment failures
    • Supply chain and contractor risks
    • Energy supply and grid-related constraints
  • Coordinate governance actions arising from operational and management meetings.
  • Ensure governance processes align with recognised standards (e.g. ISO 27001, ISO 55001) and applicable UK regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a central coordination point between operations, technical, compliance, and external stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
