About The Role

Are you a General Practitioner with a special interest in Gynaecology looking to work differently? Would you like the time to truly focus on patient care — with longer appointments, dedicated admin time, and no on-call commitments?

Practice Plus Group Hospital, Plymouth, is seeking an experienced Private GP with a Specialist Interest in Gynaecology (GPwSI) to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your clinical expertise while working within a supportive and innovative hospital environment, located close to Derriford Hospital.

What you'll be doing

You’ll provide predominantly face-to-face consultations and undertake minor gynaecology procedures, helping us continue to deliver excellent, patient-centred care.

As a GPwSI In Gynaecology, You Will

  • Undertake face-to-face consultations, minor gynaecology procedures, and follow-up reviews.
  • Make autonomous clinical decisions in line with current best practice and patient needs.
  • Develop and implement patient-centred care plans for women’s health and wellbeing.
  • Provide counselling, health education, and continuity of care.
  • Record and maintain clear, accurate clinical notes using electronic systems.
  • Contribute to audits, service development, and clinical governance activities.
  • Support and participate in quality improvement, research, and development initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and take a proactive role in implementing change.

What we'll look for in you

We’re looking for a dedicated GP who is passionate about women’s health and motivated to deliver exceptional care.

Essential Qualifications And Experience

  • MBBS/MBCHB and MRCGP
  • GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register
  • DRCOG
  • DFSRH + LoC SDI/IUD
  • BMS Management of Menopause Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in women’s health/gynaecology and service development
  • Competence in performing gynaecological assessments and minor procedures

Desirable

  • Higher degree (PhD, MD)

Personal Qualities And Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Confidence using IT and electronic health record systems
  • Commitment to audit, governance, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to implement and lead positive change
