GP Training Programme Director for Expansion
Role Overview
The role of GP Training Programme Director for Expansion is to work with and support the Heads of School and the Primary Care Dean in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the objectives of NHS England Workforce Training and Education (WT&E).
Key Responsibilities

Focus on activities in support of:
- Learning set facilitation
- Supporting the GP TPDs in the Half Day Release scheme in providing curriculum and placement support
- Potential for providing support for departmental fellows
- Working closely with GP Tutors and locality training hub colleagues in promoting capacity and new organisational placements to manage expansion, capacity, and updated ways of working within GP Training

Focus on the improvement of learner supervision, assessment, and experience, engagement of faculty, and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future.

Work across the spectrum of health and, where relevant, social care, within the context of a team, so that the provision of education reflects changing service models. This will deliver an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.

Requirements
- Self-motivated individual, able to respond quickly to changing priorities and workloads.
- Strong leadership skills are essential.
- Good knowledge of the GP curriculum and associated mandatory requirements.
- Ability to positively influence the expansion of GP specialty training.
- Extensive knowledge of General Practice.
- Current GP registered with the GMC.
- Experienced in healthcare education management (which may be achieved through a formal university course or equivalent experience).
- A representative of the Primary Care Department and a positive advocate for NHSE at all times.
- Promote leadership that inspires, motivates, and empowers all staff, whilst demonstrating the values of the NHS.

Recruitment Details
