We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Product Manager, Emerging Payments.

The Emerging Payments Team looks to evolve our payments, settlements, and currencies clearing products with emerging business models, technologies, and partnerships. You will be part of the emerging payments product team and have the opportunity to evolve our product offerings, innovate new propositions, and help build the money and payment system for the future.

In This Role You Will

  • Be responsible for the emerging payments and settlement services product portfolio and developing new products and propositions
  • Identify and evaluate market trends in emerging payments, Digital Merchant Services, Open Banking, and digital currencies & asset opportunities
  • Commercialising emerging payments products and propositions
  • Lead product solutioning for specific Request for Proposals (RfPs) and bespoke client requirements
  • Support internal teams and external market participants, including regulators, in relation to consultation, proof-of-concept projects, pilots, and other industry collaborations
  • Assess and address inherent and residue risks of new emerging payments products and propositions by following the required product governance processes
  • Create and respond to opportunities to promote HSBC’s leading position in emerging payments and digital currencies & assets agenda

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • An understanding of the European payments landscape, especially with regards to Digital Merchant Services, Open Banking, and other emerging products and propositions
  • Keen appreciation and insights of digital currencies & assets market trends, competition offerings, potential disruptors, and evolving regulations and technologies
  • Ability to effectively work in a diverse and multicultural team with remote working arrangements
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication ability, written and verbal, to explain complex ideas simply in client-centric language, including data requirements

This is a hybrid role where the base location will be London Canada Square. There will be occasional travel required for meetings.
