Are you a GP with an Extended or Special Interest in Dermatology looking for an opportunity to develop your specialist practice alongside your existing clinical commitments? Compass Associates are working with a growing healthcare organisation that is developing a new dermatology service across Surrey. We are looking to speak with experienced GPwERs / GPwSIs in Dermatology who would be interested in joining the service as it develops.
This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in a growing dermatology pathway, working alongside Consultant Dermatologists and the wider clinical team to provide high-quality, accessible care within the community.
The Opportunity
You will play an important role in the clinical delivery of the dermatology service, assessing and managing patients within your scope of practice and working collaboratively with Consultant Dermatologists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
The organisation is looking to build a flexible clinical workforce and can consider clinicians looking to work alongside existing NHS, primary care, or private-sector commitments. As patient activity increases, there will be opportunities to take on additional sessions and become increasingly involved in the development of the service.

Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a range of dermatological conditions.
- Deliver dermatology clinics within an agreed GPwER / GPwSI scope of practice.
- Develop appropriate treatment and management plans.
- Identify patients requiring escalation or Consultant Dermatologist review.
- Work collaboratively with Consultant Dermatologists and the wider MDT.
- Support effective referral, treatment, and follow-up pathways.
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance, documentation, and patient safety.
- Contribute to the delivery of an efficient, accessible, and patient-centred dermatology service.
- Support the ongoing development of the pathway as the service grows.
What We Are Looking For
We would particularly like to speak with GPs who:
- Hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- Have substantial post-registration experience in Dermatology.
- Are currently working as a GPwER / GPwSI in Dermatology, or can demonstrate equivalent specialist experience.
- Are confident assessing and managing dermatology patients independently within an agreed scope of practice.
- Have experience working within community dermatology, primary care, secondary care, or an equivalent specialist setting.
- Have a strong understanding of clinical governance and appropriate escalation pathways.
- Are collaborative, adaptable, and interested in joining a developing service.

Additional postgraduate dermatology qualifications, such as a Diploma in Practical Dermatology or equivalent, would be advantageous. Experience in areas such as dermoscopy, lesion assessment, minor surgery, or community dermatology pathways would also be particularly welcomed.
Working Arrangements
The service is based across East Surrey / South London, with flexible working arrangements available depending on clinical requirements. There is flexibility around sessional commitment, making this an excellent opportunity for GPs looking to develop their dermatology portfolio alongside existing NHS, primary care, or private practice.
