Healthcare Support Workers - Bladder and Bowel Nursing Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Specialist to join the Bladder and Bowel Nursing Team within the Continence Care Service. We are looking for a passionate, caring, and motivated person to join our highly skilled nursing team. Working alongside specialist nurses, you will play a key role in supporting patients across Edinburgh, East Lothian, and Midlothian to access the most appropriate continence products to meet their individual needs.
This is a community-based role where you will assess patients' continence product requirements, arrange, and manage product prescriptions through the Continence Care Service, and provide advice and education to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals. You will also undertake home visits, including bladder scanning, and support ongoing reviews to ensure patients receive the most suitable products for their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess continence product needs and recommend suitable products.
- Arrange prescriptions and ongoing product supplies.
- Provide advice and education to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
- Undertake home visits, including bladder scanning.
- Maintain patient records and work with the wider multidisciplinary team.
Shift patterns: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected
