Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

Salary: A GBP 40,777 to A GBP 45,091 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

Closing Date: 8th of September 2026


We are looking for an Engineer to deliver projects that maintain and improve our highway network. Our network of roads, footpaths, and cycleways is an essential part of everyone's lives. It helps people access things like work, learning, essential services, and leisure activities.

We are responsible for over 1,049km of roads, 1,597km of footpaths and cycleways, and many other assets including:

  • 470 structures
  • 361 traffic signals
  • 15,000 signs

About You

We want a passionate and self-motivated person to join our Highway Design and Maintenance team. You will work on a variety of schemes from capital investment projects, where you will be responsible for the design and construction of new highway infrastructure projects, to delivering schemes as part of our highway maintenance programme.
