Job specification

Mondi operates a highly centralised treasury function, managing global funding, cash pooling in multiple currencies, and foreign exchange hedging through a specialist team based in the UK and Vienna.

We are seeking a Graduate Accountant to join our high-performing Treasury team in the UK. Reporting to the Assistant Group Treasurer, you will support treasury accounting and reporting activities, including debt, cash, foreign exchange, as well as month-end processes, bank reconciliations, and treasury-related queries from Group subsidiaries.

This graduate position offers comprehensive on-the-job training and full financial support towards the ACCA chartered accounting qualification, including paid study leave. Working closely with both the UK and Vienna teams, you will gain broad exposure to treasury operations and build a strong foundation for a career in finance and accounting.

What is treasury?

Most graduates haven't heard of treasury, but it's a great place to start a finance career. Treasury manages a company's cash, banking relationships, borrowings, and financial risks.

As part of a small team at the centre of a large international business, you'll gain early exposure to banks, financial markets and senior stakeholders and finance teams.

We're not looking for treasury experience. We're looking for someone who is numerate, curious, analytical, and eager to learn. Alongside the role, you'll study for the ACCA qualification, building both practical experience and a recognised professional qualification.

Treasury offers a unique mix of finance, problem-solving, negotiation, and business partnering. No two days are the same, and the skills you develop are highly transferable across finance functions, industries, and companies.

So if you like numbers but don't necessarily want a career where you're doing the same type of accounting every month, treasury can be a very interesting place to start.

And if, after you’ve qualified, you decide that treasury isn’t for you, the skills that you’ll have learned are transferable and an excellent grounding for a career elsewhere in finance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support daily and monthly financial reporting, including assisting with month-end activities.
  • Provide accounting support and backup to the Treasury Accountant on all treasury activities.
  • Understand treasury and derivative accounting process and policy and ensure compliance with Group Treasury and Accounting policies.
  • Liaise with the group auditors and provide support to audit requests in relation to all treasury activity.
  • Maintain, develop and improve treasury reporting including liaison with relevant stakeholders within the business.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the team, providing administrative support to help work progress efficiently and on schedule.
  • Obtain a good working knowledge of in-house and external treasury systems and provide back-up to the Treasury Accountant and Treasury Manager on key processes. Working to standardise and streamline existing manual excel based processes where possible.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
