We are offering an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Agency Surveyor to join a respected and growing commercial property team based in Cambridge, working across a diverse portfolio of commercial offices, industrial, and retail property. You'll gain hands-on experience from day one, working with a broad mix of clients including investors, developers, landlords, and occupiers. The team has particular expertise in the Cambridge and Cambridgeshire commercial property market, including business parks, science parks, and key commercial locations across the region. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or newly qualified surveyor to develop practical agency experience, gain exposure to clients and transactions, and work towards professional qualification within a progressive and dynamic department.
Your new role
As a Graduate Agency Surveyor, you will support experienced surveyors on acquisitions, disposals, and lettings, while gradually developing responsibility for your own instructions. The role offers strong exposure to the full agency life cycle, market appraisal, inspections, negotiations, and client relationship management, providing an ideal platform for early-career development.
Main purpose/scope of the role:
- Assist with commercial agency disposals by lease or sale across a range of asset classes including office, industrial, R&D, retail, and mixed-use property.
- Inspect, measure, and research properties, gathering relevant information to support advice on method of disposal, quoting terms, and marketing strategy.
- Prepare draft property particulars, marketing materials, availability schedules, and supporting information for review by senior colleagues.
- Arrange and conduct property viewings, respond to applicant enquiries, and maintain accurate applicant and property records.
- Support negotiations with potential purchasers, tenants, and occupiers, including collating offers and preparing recommendations for clients.
- Assist with agreed transactions by supporting background checks, liaising with solicitors, and responding to queries through to completion.
- Undertake market research, comparable evidence gathering, and data analysis to support agency advice and client reporting.
- Maintain accurate records on internal systems and assist with updating property databases, mailing lists, and marketing platforms.
- Liaise with colleagues across Commercial Agency, Property Management, Professional Services, and other departments to support the smooth running of instructions.

Training & Career Progression
This role is ideal for a graduate with a clear ambition to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor. You will benefit from:
- APC support, including mentoring and guidance from experienced Chartered Surveyors.
- Gain a varied workload designed to support the mandatory, core, and technical competencies required for the final APC assessment.
- Attend quarterly sign-off meetings and six-monthly supervisor and counsellor reviews.
- Attend organized CPD events, mock interviews, and receive case study support.
- A proven track record of successfully developing graduates through to qualification.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have:
- RICS accredited degree or working towards a relevant property qualification, or be recently RICS qualified.
- Strong interest in commercial property and agency work.
- Confident communicator with good analytical and organizational skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach, and willingness to learn from experienced surveyors.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply property and lease terminology, with support and training where required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deal professionally with clients, applicants, tenants, landlords, and professional advisers.
- Enjoyment of working as part of a collaborative team and developing strong relationships with colleagues across the wider business.
- Full driving license and use of own car insured for business use.

- Previous work experience, placement, or internship within commercial property, real estate, or professional services.
- Knowledge of the local commercial property market.
- Experience using property databases, CRM systems, or marketing platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.

You'll receive a salary of £29,000+ (depending on experience), flexible working after probation.
