As Graduate Application Engineer you'll support the design, development and delivery of technology solutions across ODEON Cinemas Group, with a particular focus on platforms and tools, application development, process automation and AI.

This is a hands-on role that will contribute directly to building intelligent solutions that improve the guest experience, streamline operations and drive commercial value. The successful candidate will work across multiple projects and disciplines, gaining broad exposure to modern cloud platforms, AI frameworks and agile development practices.

Key Accountabilities

  • Application Development — Design, build and maintain applications that support cinema operations, guest-facing services and internal tools, using AI tools, modern development frameworks and cloud-native practices.
  • AI & Intelligent Automation — Develop and deploy business solutions using Odeon approved AI tools and platforms, including AI agents and automation, that address real business challenges across Marketing, Operations, Film and Finance.
  • Process Automation — Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and repetitive tasks using low-code/no-code platforms (e.g. Azure function apps, Copilot Studio) and custom scripting to improve efficiency and reducing operational overhead.
  • Integration & Engineering — Support the development and maintenance of APIs, data integrations and cloud services that connect ODEON's core platforms (Vista, Databricks, Azure), ensuring reliability, scalability and security.
  • Testing & Quality — Write and maintain automated tests, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and follow engineering best practices to ensure solutions are robust, well-documented and production-ready.
  • Collaboration & Learning — Work closely with colleagues across IT, Data Engineering, Analytics and business teams to understand requirements, share knowledge and continuously develop technical and professional skills.
  • Innovation & Horizon Scanning — Stay current with emerging technologies, AI frameworks and industry trends, proactively bringing ideas for how new tools and approaches could benefit ODEON.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
