The Opportunity
We are working with a leading UK multidisciplinary consultancy that is continuing to grow its Building Surveying team. This is a great opportunity for a Graduate or Assistant Building Surveyor who has some commercial experience and is looking to develop their career within an established consultancy environment.
You’ll join a sizeable, experienced Building Surveying team and gain exposure to a broad range of professional and project-based work across commercial property, public sector, and other major property portfolios. The business works nationally and has a strong track record of delivering high-profile projects across areas including healthcare, education, heritage, and infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
Working alongside experienced Building Surveyors, your role will include:
- Carrying out building and condition surveys
- Assisting with schedules of condition and defect diagnosis
- Supporting dilapidations and pre-acquisition work
- Assisting with refurbishment and project-based instructions
- Preparing reports, specifications, and schedules of work
- Supporting senior surveyors with contract administration and project management
- Attending client meetings and site inspections
- Developing your understanding of professional building surveying and client advisory work

About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- A degree in Building Surveying or a closely related subject
- Some practical or consultancy-based Building Surveying experience
- A genuine interest in developing a career within consultancy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence dealing with clients, colleagues, and contractors
- A willingness to get out on site and develop your technical knowledge
- A clear ambition to work towards chartership / APC
You don’t need to have years of experience. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a solid academic background, some exposure to real surveying work, and the attitude to learn and progress.
