The Opportunity

We are looking for a Graduate, Assistant or Junior Garment Technologist to join our Technical team in Salford Quays.

This opportunity is suitable for:

Graduate / Assistant Garment Technologist

  • Recent graduates in Fashion, Garment Technology, Textile Technology or a related discipline.
  • Candidates who have completed a placement year, internship, sandwich year or relevant work experience within a garment technology, quality, product development or supplier environment.

Junior Garment Technologist

  • Candidates with approximately 2 years' experience in a Garment Technologist role looking to further develop their technical expertise and progress their career.

You will work closely with our Garment Technologists and Senior Technical Manager, supporting product development and approvals across multiple product categories including:

  • Denim
  • Jersey
  • Knitwear
  • Tailoring
  • Woven products
  • Childrenswear

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle whilst developing the technical skills required to progress within a growing Technical team.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Fit

  • Attend garment fittings and record fit comments.
  • Assist with garment measurements and specification reviews.
  • Support the creation and communication of technical comments to overseas factories.
  • Learn to assess garment construction, fit and quality standards.
  • Review development, fit, pre-production and production samples.

Sample & Critical Path Management

  • Track development, fit, pre-production and production samples.
  • Maintain sample logs and organise sample storage.
  • Monitor critical path deadlines and follow up outstanding actions.
  • Support sample approvals within customer deadlines.

Testing & Compliance

  • Review laboratory test reports and update testing trackers.
  • Support care label approvals and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with product safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Help ensure products meet customer standards and quality expectations.

Technical Administration

  • Upload and maintain technical documentation.
  • Ensure fit comments, specifications and approvals are accurately recorded.
  • Maintain technical trackers and reporting documents.
  • Support customer submission packs and technical reporting.

Communication & Team Support

  • Liaise with overseas factories, suppliers and internal departments.
  • Support technical communication on product development and quality matters.
  • Assist with day-to-day technical team administration.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and technical initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

Graduate / Assistant Garment Technologist

  • Degree in Fashion, Garment Technology, Textile Technology or a related subject.
  • Strong GCSE grades in English and Maths.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.

Junior Garment Technologist

  • Degree in Fashion, Garment Technology, Textile Technology or a related subject.
  • Approximately 2 years' experience in a Garment Technologist role.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Confidence liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of garment construction, fit and quality requirements.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint skills.
