Location: Flexible / International (Global travel may be required)

Are you passionate about automotive design and looking to launch your career with a company that works with some of the world's leading automotive manufacturers? We are looking for a Graduate Automotive Design Programme Engineer to join our growing global team. This is a unique opportunity to develop your career within an international automotive design environment, working alongside leading OEMs and a highly skilled digital modelling team based in Shanghai.

No prior industry experience is required. We are looking for a motivated graduate with a passion for automotive design and a willingness to learn. Through our structured training and development programme, we will provide you with the technical, commercial and customer-facing skills needed to become a successful Automotive Design Programme Engineer.

As the key interface between our customers and our Shanghai studio, you will coordinate the delivery of digital modelling projects, from early concept surfaces through to fully production-ready Class-A geometry. This is a varied, customer-facing role that offers the opportunity to work on exciting global vehicle programmes and travel internationally to support customer programmes when required.

Kadence are a specialist automotive design and digital modelling company providing world-class CAS and CAD surface development services to global automotive OEMs. Our experienced digital modelling team in Shanghai delivers rapid turnaround solutions, supporting vehicle programmes from early concept design through to production ready Class-A surfaces.

Working seamlessly across global time zones, we provide our customers with high-quality digital modelling support, enabling overnight delivery and accelerating design programme development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface between customers and our Shanghai-based digital modelling team.
  • Attend customer programme meetings, design reviews and technical discussions.
  • Build strong relationships with customer design and engineering teams.
  • Capture customer requirements and translate them into clear technical work packages and presentations.
  • Coordinate the rapid turnaround of CAS and CAD geometry to meet demanding programme timings.
  • Review returned data to ensure it meets customer requirements, quality standards and programme hard points before presenting it back to the customer.
  • Support the successful delivery of multiple automotive design programmes.

About You

You will be enthusiastic, organised and keen to build a career within the automotive design industry.

Ideally you will have:

  • A degree in Automotive Design, Automotive Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline.
  • A genuine passion for automotive design, digital modelling and vehicle development.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • The confidence to work with customers in a professional environment.
  • A willingness to travel internationally to support global customer programmes.
  • Knowledge of, or an interest in learning, ICEM Surf, Autodesk Alias and automotive data management systems.
