About the Business
We are one of the leading plumbing, heating and electrical companies nationally, serving residential and commercial clients throughout South East England. With almost three decades in the industry, we have worked to build a large, fully equipped team of over 150 members of staff – all focused on providing the best quality service to our customers. We work closely with various known housing associations, local councils as well as catering to the private sector such as schools, hotels, care homes and commercial building.
About the Role
Customer service and account coordination are at the centre of this role. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you will have opportunities to use your interests in project management, operations, engineering, business development or marketing. We welcome graduates who ask thoughtful questions, follow through on commitments and can turn a useful idea into action.
Training and Career Development
- Learn from experienced B2B colleagues and technical teams, with induction, practical guidance and relevant continuing professional development (CPD).
- Build confidence using our job management systems and develop your understanding of client contracts, commercial processes and building services.
- Progress from supporting accounts to coordinating assigned clients, with a pathway towards a dedicated Account Manager role as your capability and performance develop.
Progression will be reviewed against agreed objectives, readiness to take ownership of a portfolio and business needs. You will have opportunities to discuss your progress and development with your manager.
What You Will Do
You will take on responsibilities progressively, with training and supervision appropriate to your experience. Your manager will help you balance client service priorities with development and improvement projects.
Client relationships and customer service
- Support key and strategically important client accounts, learning their sites, priorities, service agreements and communication preferences. Build trusted relationships with client contacts and decision makers.
- Handle calls, emails and enquiries professionally; give clear updates and follow through on queries or complaints. Attend client reviews and meetings, record actions and escalate concerns promptly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Operations and project coordination
- Log instructions and coordinate reactive repairs, planned preventive maintenance and project activities with engineers, subcontractors and managers. Confirm access, priorities, deadlines and the next action on each job.
- Track work from initial enquiry to completion and aftercare, including parts, approvals, return visits and handovers. Keep schedules and client portals current, and flag delays or resource issues early.
- Check job reports for missing information and help assemble certificates, photographs and completion packs. Refer technical decisions and safety concerns to the appropriate qualified colleague.
Quotations and commercial administration
- Help prepare quotations using engineer findings, approved rates and supplier prices. Follow up proposals, record decisions and obtain the required approvals for orders, variations and additional work.
- Support purchase orders, material sourcing, cost tracking and accurate invoicing. Work with Finance and Supply Chain to resolve queries, progress completed but un-invoiced jobs and protect agreed margins.
Business development and client onboarding
- Research prospective clients and sectors, maintain prospect records and support agreed outreach, introductory meetings and proposals. Help identify suitable opportunities within existing accounts, including maintenance and renewable energy services.
- Support new client onboarding by gathering site details, contacts, service requirements, purchase order processes and reporting expectations. Coordinate the handover so colleagues can deliver what has been agreed.
Marketing and improvements
- Work alongside our IT department and relevant colleagues on social media content, email campaigns, client brochures, presentations and case studies that explain the business’ services clearly.
- Bring fresh ideas, gather approved project information and help track enquiries and campaign results. Obtain the appropriate approval before publishing content or using client information and images.
- Use client feedback and account data to suggest practical improvements to service, reporting and departmental growth. Help trial agreed changes and assess whether they work.
- Maintain accurate records in BigChange JobWatch and other company systems. Follow the company’s confidentiality, information security, quality, safety and purchasing procedures, and work within your agreed authority.
