Graduate Banking Operations Analyst - London
An international bank is looking for a graduate to join its Loan Operations and Settlements team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning their banking career and looking to gain hands-on experience across loan servicing, payments, settlements and trade-finance operations.
Previous banking experience is not essential, although an internship, placement or initial role within banking operations, payments, loans, trade finance or financial administration would be highly advantageous.
The Role:
You will support the daily processing and control of loan and settlement transactions, including:
- Processing loan drawdowns, rollovers and repayments.
- Monitoring loan payments, fees, outstanding balances and undrawn facilities.
- Producing daily and monthly loan portfolio reports.
- Supporting nostro movements, payment instructions and settlement controls.
- Preparing transaction records and documentation for trade-finance products.
- Assisting with GL entries, charges and reconciliation-related activity.
- Processing fixed-deposit instructions.
- Maintaining accurate transaction records, customer files and supporting documentation.
- Liaising with internal teams, customers, correspondent banks and external processing providers.
- Supporting operational risk and control checks.

The Candidate:
We are looking for someone who:
- Has recently completed a degree; the subject is less important than a genuine interest in banking and financial operations.
- Ideally has some experience within operations, payments, loans, trade finance, financial services or an administrative role.
- Is confident using Microsoft Excel and other standard office systems.

Any knowledge of banking products, SWIFT payments, loan administration, trade finance, reconciliations or nostro accounts would be beneficial but is not essential. This is a hands-on operational position offering valuable exposure to the day-to-day processing, control and settlement of banking transactions.
