Description
The Assistant Building Automation Engineer will participate on both multi-disciplinary and controls-specific engineering teams to assist and support Building Automation Engineering design packages, perform calculations and assist engineering solutions in support of capital and retrofit projects in a variety of locations. Work duties can consist of any of the following depending on client, project, and consultant role:
- Assists in development of design drawings and specifications for design of primarily HVAC control systems and EPMS, for both PLC-based systems and DDC-based systems (System is client-specific)
- Assists with mechanical and electrical design teams to develop Sequences of Operations and Point Lists for HVAC control and electrical monitoring of equipment and systems
- Assists engineering drawings for control panel and field wiring designs including installation details, bill of material, and P&IDs
- Assists quality reviews of project submittals.
- Assists technical bids and managing vendor and subconsultant contracts
- Assists in the reviewing and approving of vendor and subconsultant drawings, including Sequences of Operation, Points Lists, Engineering Drawings, Bill of Materials, Graphics, and Test Scripts
- Assists in Software Bench Tests, Software Factory Acceptance Tests, and Equipment Factory Witness Tests
- Assists technical assistance during commissioning at project site.
- Assists compliance with company and site safety policies.
- Assists multi-consultant and Owner meetings for design changes and implementation
- Assists production of engineering drawings using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, or ePlan
- Assists RFI responses and associated work plans
- Assists adherence to client and industry standards and applies client or industry standards, guidelines, specifications, practices and procedures in preparing designs.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

- Bachelor Degree in Engineering required
- Experience designing BAS systems for large and complex projects
- Field experience in installation, commissioning, and/or trouble shooting of BAS systems in buildings
- Ability to interface, mentor and collaborate effectively with your team members
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team
- Strong organization, delegation, presentation and communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Proficient with business and engineering applications.
- Microsoft Office proficiency are a must
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and drawing production from Revit.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) in Mechanical or I&C preferred or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) in Mechanical or I&C preferred
