Join one of the UK's largest teams of Chartered Surveyors and start building your career with a consultancy that supports clients at every stage of property investment, ownership and occupation.

At Ridge, we combine national expertise with local knowledge across our network of regional offices. You'll work alongside experienced Building Surveyors on a diverse range of projects, helping clients manage their property portfolios, projects and transactions.

We're looking for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join our multi-disciplinary London office. You'll gain hands-on experience from day one, working on prestigious projects and a wide variety of building surveying instructions across the residential, education, industrial and commercial sectors.

You'll Have The Opportunity To Work On

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys
  • Pre-acquisition building surveys
  • Schedules of condition
  • Schedules of dilapidations
  • Reinstatement cost assessments

You'll also support a diverse client base, including major retailers, local authorities, schools, universities, contractors and developers.

What You'll Do

As a Graduate Building Surveyor, you'll work closely with experienced colleagues while developing your technical and professional skills. You will:

  • Support contract administration projects by attending meetings, preparing specifications, procuring competitive tenders, preparing contract documents and carrying out progress inspections.
  • Assist with building surveys and site inspections, recording key information and producing clear, concise reports.
  • Support the delivery of complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Help investigate, analyse and report on building defects.
  • Assist with preparing schedules of dilapidations and negotiating settlements.
  • Support the supervision of construction work on site.
  • Provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of residential and commercial properties.
  • Carry out building, condition and measured surveys.

You'll Ideally Have

  • A bachelor's degree (2:2 or above) in a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited programme.
  • The right to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship.
  • A genuine interest in the property and construction industry.
  • A willingness to learn from experienced Building Surveyors and take advantage of professional development opportunities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to organise your workload and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality documentation.
