Graduate Building Surveyor (NEC Supervisor)

Your new company

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading international construction and property consultancy for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join their growing infrastructure and project delivery team. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile capital projects, supporting the delivery of major programmes across the built environment sector. The successful candidate will gain exposure to building surveying services, project delivery, quality assurance and NEC contract administration whilst working alongside experienced professionals. This position would particularly suit a graduate with an interest in construction quality, project assurance and contract administration who is keen to develop towards Chartered status.

Your new role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support the delivery of building and infrastructure projects through inspections, reporting and quality assurance activities. You will also assist with NEC Supervisor duties, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with building inspections and condition surveys.
  • Supporting defect identification and quality assurance reviews.
  • Undertaking site visits and monitoring construction works.
  • Supporting NEC Supervisor activities on live projects.
  • Recording and reporting defects, non-conformances and quality issues.
  • Reviewing construction works against drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Assisting in preparing technical reports and project documentation.
  • Working closely with contractors, consultants and client teams.
  • Supporting project delivery from inception through to completion.
  • Maintaining accurate records and project information.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline.
  • Understanding of construction methods and building technology.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous.
  • Previous placement, internship or industry experience desirable.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
  • Ambition to progress towards MRICS or other relevant professional qualifications.
