Graduate Business Coordinator
Graduates are often offered a choice between roles that use their academic knowledge but provide little responsibility, and roles that offer responsibility without enough support. This opportunity is designed to bridge that gap. You will learn how people, campaign activity and performance information are coordinated inside a growing business, then earn broader involvement by demonstrating sound judgement in practice.
Sage welcomes applications from every degree discipline. Useful evidence may come from a dissertation, group project, society, part-time job, placement, sport, volunteering or caring responsibility. We want to understand how you organised information, influenced others and responded when a plan changed.
The Campaign Lens
Business coordination starts with understanding how work reaches the customer. You will learn the objective of an assigned campaign, the service being represented, the approved customer information and the measures used to review delivery. You will participate in face-to-face activity so that your future observations are based on real operational experience.
This customer-facing foundation is one part of the programme. It develops confidence, accuracy and commercial awareness. Over time, you should be able to identify repeated questions, explain what happened during activity and distinguish evidence from assumption.
The People Lens
Reliable coordination helps other people perform. You will observe how experienced leaders prepare briefings, communicate a standard and follow up on agreed actions. When ready and under guidance, you may support an approved onboarding task, demonstrate a process or help a colleague organise information needed for the day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You will also gain exposure to how recruitment and retention affect business capacity. This may include observing candidate selection stages, understanding onboarding requirements and seeing how managers plan for team growth. You will not begin with hiring, disciplinary or independent people-management authority.
The programme will help you practise feedback that is specific and useful. That means identifying an observable behaviour, explaining its effect and agreeing a practical next step. Encouragement matters, but leadership also requires clarity and follow-through.
The Performance Lens
You will work with simple measures covering activity, quality, conversion and completion. The purpose is to understand why a result may have changed, not to treat one figure as the whole story. You may prepare factual notes for a review, check that records are complete or help organise information into an accessible update.
As your capability develops, you could gain exposure to forecasting, resource planning and basic budget awareness. Exposure means learning how authorised managers approach these decisions. It does not give you permission to approve spending, make financial commitments or change campaign terms.

The Client Lens
Client confidence depends on accurate information. You may see how managers turn campaign evidence into progress updates, prepare for account discussions and escalate issues that could affect delivery. Your contribution may include confirming an allocated action, summarising a recurring customer observation or checking that an approved change has reached the right people.
Client contracts, legal commitments and final campaign decisions remain with authorised colleagues. The programme teaches responsible coordination by making those boundaries clear.
How Progression is Assessed
Development is based on consistent personal performance, reliable administration, communication quality, learning speed and contribution to others. One strong result will not create an automatic promotion. Broader responsibility becomes appropriate when you can explain the work, deliver the standard and support another person without creating confusion or risk.
Strong candidates are ambitious and patient enough to build credibility. If you are looking for an opportunity where your effort is recognised and your development is taken seriously, apply through LinkedIn with your current CV to be considered for the next stage.
