We are seeking talented graduates to join our growing Renewables Infrastructure team in Edinburgh and Glasgow. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to the design and delivery of renewables infrastructure projects that contribute to and support the strategic growth within the various markets we operate, including but not limited to renewables infrastructure, transmission, transportation and flood protection across Scotland and supporting our multi-disciplinary Northern Ireland business within Tetra Tech.
Purpose & Scope of the Role
As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will support the delivery of civil engineering designs across a range of infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced engineers and other technical specialists. You will contribute to projects through concept, tender, detailed design and construction stages, developing your technical knowledge and practical experience along the way.
Your work may include highways and roads, access tracks, bridges, retaining structures, drainage systems and associated infrastructure. You will assist with the preparation of designs, calculations, drawings and technical documentation, while developing an understanding of buildability, value engineering and relevant environmental, health and safety requirements.
You will work closely with colleagues across geotechnical, structural, environmental and planning disciplines, gaining valuable experience of delivering integrated multi-disciplinary solutions. With support and guidance from senior team members, you will also develop an understanding of sustainable drainage, planning and third-party approvals, and engagement with statutory consultees.
Throughout your development, you will learn to apply HSQE principles, identify and manage design risks, and understand how civil engineering solutions are developed and delivered safely and sustainably.

In the short term, your focus will be on building your technical knowledge, producing high-quality work and learning from experienced colleagues across the business. Your Pathway:
You’ll be assigned a location, cost centre, line manager, and a ‘home’ technical discipline based on your qualifications and business needs. If you wish to explore a different discipline at the end of the programme, we’ll consider this based on your interests and business requirements.
Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Partnership
As part of the scheme, you’ll have access to the CMI Foundation Chartered Manager pathway through flexible, online Bite Size programs. Choose from a range of topics- including Managing Change, Leading in a Digital Age, Conflict Resolution, Project Management, and Data-Driven Decision Making - to build your leadership and management skills.

- Internationally recognised certification upon completion
- Option to progress to a Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management
Each program consists of three concise modules (totalling 85-135 minutes), scheduled in your second year. Complete activity sheets to demonstrate your learning and earn your Foundation Chartered Manager certification.
Qualifications
Must have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a relevant degree in either Civil or Structural Engineering

Working Environment
Initially, you will be based full-time in our Edinburgh or Glasgow office during your probation period to support your onboarding, development and mentoring. Following successful completion of your probation, the role will move to a hybrid working arrangement, with an expectation of three days per week in the office to support ongoing collaboration and team coordination.

Following initial screening, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete online psychometric testing designed to evaluate key competencies and problem-solving skills relevant to consultancy work. Those who progress beyond this stage will be invited to attend an in-person Graduate Day.
