Graduate Engineer

Location: Nottingham

Salary: GBP28,000 - GBP34,000

Not sure you want your first engineering role to pigeonhole you into one discipline? This Nottingham opportunity gives you experience across both Civil Development and Structural Engineering, together with genuine site involvement so you can understand how projects are designed and actually delivered.

The Opportunity

An established multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for a Graduate Engineer to join its Nottingham team.

You will work across the Civil Development and Structural Engineering teams, supporting experienced engineers with design and project delivery. There will also be significant site involvement, giving you practical exposure to construction and the opportunity to become a trusted pair of eyes on live projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Civil Development and Structural Engineering design
  • Assist with drainage, infrastructure, and associated development work
  • Support structural design alongside experienced engineers
  • Attend sites, monitor progress, and gather project information
  • Report observations and potential issues back to senior engineers
  • Work with architects, contractors, and wider project teams
  • Support projects through design and construction stages

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
