Graduate Civil Engineer
Location: Leeds, Manchester or London

Purpose & Scope of the Role
Join Tetra Tech’s Civil Engineering team and support the delivery of flagship and regionally significant schemes across defence, transport, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and residential sectors. Working alongside senior colleagues, you’ll contribute to the design of private and public highways, drainage systems, specifications, calculations, technical reports and site supervision, while developing towards professional qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Your Impact in this position
From day one, you’ll help turn engineering concepts into practical solutions. You’ll gain hands-on experience across design, reporting and site-based work, while building your skills in flood risk assessment and using industry-standard tools including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage.
5 Core Capabilities
- Engineering Design – Support the production of civil engineering designs across highways, drainage and wider infrastructure projects.
- Technical Reporting & Calculations – Prepare specifications, calculations and technical reports that support robust project delivery.
- Site Supervision – Assist with supervision activities on site, gaining practical insight into how designs are delivered.
- Flood Risk & Drainage Knowledge – Develop understanding of flood risk assessment and drainage design for both public and private schemes.
- Software & Collaboration – Build confidence using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage, while working effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Training, Qualifications And Experience
You’ll need a minimum 2:1 BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Enthusiasm, flexibility, versatility and a commitment to your professional development are essential. Suitability for security clearance is required.
Working Environment
Based in Leeds, Manchester or London this role supports hybrid working, with office attendance and site involvement as required by project needs. As a graduate role, you’ll be expected to spend more time in the office initially to support learning and development. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and project teams in a collaborative, professional environment.
