This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems to some of the UK's largest Utility companies across the UK, to join as an ambitious Graduate Finance Assistant and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth.

The role will be based at our offices in Matfen, Northumberland NE20 0RQ. The offices are 15 minutes away from Hexham and around 30 minutes from Newcastle City Centre.

About the Role

The Graduate Finance Assistant will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, and assisting with the preparation of financial reports. This role is designed for a recent graduate looking to develop a career in finance or accounting while gaining practical experience in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily finance and accounting activities.
  • Process supplier invoices and payments.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
  • Prepare and maintain financial records, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and support credit control activities.
  • Help ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements by providing documentation and information.
  • Analyse financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and financial analysis as required.
  • Work closely with colleagues across different departments to provide financial support and guidance.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
