Are you ready to kickstart your engineering career and play a key role in shaping the future of the offshore energy industry?

JDR is looking to recruit two ambitious and motivated Graduate Commercial Engineers to join our team and develop their careers within a dynamic engineering and commercial environment.

These roles offer an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to apply their technical knowledge, develop commercial expertise, and gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of engineering projects. Working alongside experienced professionals across engineering, procurement, tendering, and project delivery, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation of competitive tenders, accurate cost estimates, and commercially sound project proposals.

The two positions will provide opportunities to develop specialist skills in Tendering and Cost Estimating, while building a broader understanding of JDR's commercial operations and business objectives.

Graduate Commercial Engineer – Tendering

You will support the preparation and submission of tenders and quotations, working with internal teams and external suppliers to develop competitive, accurate, and compliant commercial proposals.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing customer enquiries, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Supporting the preparation of tender submissions and commercial quotations.
  • Coordinating technical and commercial information from relevant departments.
  • Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations and supporting information.
  • Assisting with tender pricing, bid documentation, and submission deadlines.
  • Maintaining accurate tender records and supporting post-submission activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
