Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Hours: 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £25,000 - £26,000 per annum
Visa Sponsorship: This position does not meet the UK Home Office sponsorship requirements (specifically, financial thresholds). Therefore, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.

Role Overview
Sewell Advisory is the consultancy division of Sewell Group and an industry leader in strategic estates advice, development and project management, and operational property support for clients across the UK.
This role is designed for a graduate who has completed, or is close to completing, a RICS-accredited degree and wants to build a career as a chartered surveyor. You will join a supportive multidisciplinary team, gain structured experience against the relevant RICS competencies and work towards the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), with the aim of achieving MRICS chartered status.
Our customers are predominantly in the health, education and wider public sectors. We help organisations make informed decisions about their land, buildings and estates, including strategy, options appraisal, business cases, development, project delivery and operational property matters.

Key Responsibilities
From the outset, the Graduate Consultant will have the opportunity to contribute to client-facing property and estates commissions, supported by experienced colleagues. This role offers practical experience across the relevant RICS competencies, while developing technical knowledge, commercial awareness, professional judgement and communication skills.

The successful candidate will agree a structured APC development plan with their counsellor or supervisor, gaining the experience needed to progress towards chartership. This will include maintaining experience and continuing professional development records, gathering evidence of competence and preparing for RICS assessments.
The role is well suited to someone who is proactive, keen to learn and committed to taking an active role in their own professional development, seeking feedback and applying new knowledge in their day-to-day work.

Essential
- Hold, or be on course to complete, a degree accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) for the relevant APC pathway
- Be committed to completing the RICS APC pathway and achieving MRICS chartered status
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly, meet set deadlines and work with multiple ongoing tasks
- The ability to work as a team member in a busy working environment, but also the ability to work unsupervised at times
- The ability to learn and work with new technology and software
- Effective and efficient time management skills
- Awareness of the importance of confidentiality
- Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Willingness to take responsibility for APC records, continuing professional development and evidence of competence, with support from the business
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence and own transport

Desirable
- Relevant work experience, placement experience or an internship in surveying, property, estates or a consultancy environment
- Experience working in or with the public sector
