At DTGen, we're helping shape the future of intelligent power systems. Our PCS (Power & Control Solutions) division designs, manufactures, integrates and supports advanced control and automation technologies used across power generation, critical infrastructure and industrial environments.
We're looking for a Graduate Controls Project Engineer to join our specialist team and help deliver innovative automation, control and power management solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while gaining practical experience across engineering, manufacturing, commissioning and project delivery.
This role is ideal for a graduate with a passion for automation, controls and emerging technologies who wants to build a rewarding career within a growing engineering business. Through structured development, mentorship and real-world project exposure, you'll develop both technical expertise and commercial awareness while working towards a future career in Project Engineering or Project Management.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the design, development and implementation of control and automation solutions.
- Assisting with control system architecture, schematics, panel layouts and technical documentation.
- Working alongside Controls Engineers to configure, test and integrate advanced control systems.
- Participating in system validation, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.
- Supporting Project Engineers and Project Managers with project planning, reporting and delivery.
- Gaining practical exposure to manufacturing, workshop and control panel assembly processes.
- Developing expertise in automation technologies, industrial communications and power management systems.
- Supporting the successful delivery of innovative power and control projects.

What we're looking for:
- HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A genuine interest in automation, controls, project engineering and industrial technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK Driving Licence or willingness to obtain one.

Application Process
Step 1 - Initial Screening
Following application review, successful candidates will be invited to complete an application form and submit responses to a short video interview questionnaire.
Step 2 - First Stage Interview
Candidates progressing to the next stage will attend a virtual interview via Microsoft Teams with members of the hiring team.
Step 3 - Final Stage Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a site-based final interview, providing an opportunity to meet the wider team and learn more about DTGen and the role.
