Graduate Cyber Security Analyst

About the Role

Are you a recent Cyber Security graduate looking to launch your career in information security? We are seeking a motivated and security-conscious Graduate Cyber Security Analyst to join our growing cybersecurity team. This entry-level role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about protecting systems, networks, and data from cyber threats while developing practical skills in security operations, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.

No prior professional experience is required. Full training and mentorship will be provided to help you build a successful career in Cyber Security, Security Operations (SOC), Cloud Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), and Ethical Hacking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and assist in identifying potential cyber threats.
  • Support vulnerability assessments and basic security testing activities.
  • Assist with incident detection, investigation, and response.
  • Help maintain security tools, firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Perform security log analysis and monitor system activity.
  • Support user access management and identity security processes.
  • Assist with implementing cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in security awareness and compliance initiatives.
  • Document security incidents, findings, and remediation activities.
  • Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to strengthen system security.
  • Assist with risk assessments and compliance reporting.
  • Stay updated with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and information security concepts.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • High attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or IBM QRadar.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security solutions and vulnerability management tools.
  • Basic understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
  • Knowledge of cloud security concepts for Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell is an advantage.
  • Understanding of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or Cyber Essentials.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), or Cisco CyberOps Associate are advantageous but not required.
  • Academic projects, Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, home labs, internships, or GitHub security projects are beneficial but not required.
