The Opportunity
TrimTabs is in the middle of a site transition, moving operations from one facility to another. The current estate spans both sites and mixes dynamic and static IP addressing, and the network carries manufacturing equipment as well as standard business IT.
The company needs someone to map the new network from the ground up, scope the options, help drive the migration itself, and make sure everything - including production equipment - is properly protected once it lands. It is a defined, high-ownership project with a clear beginning and end, and a rare chance to secure an operational technology environment rather than a purely office one.
What You Will Do
Network mapping and design
- Map the new network in full, including manufacturing equipment and the mix of dynamic and static IPs across the two sites
- Scope and compare a range of design options, setting out the trade-offs in cost, resilience and security so TrimTabs can make an informed decision
- Document the target-state architecture so it can be maintained after the project ends

Migration delivery
- Provide assistance on, and where appropriate leadership of, the project management of the migration between sites
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing and any external suppliers to sequence the move with minimal disruption to production
- Track risks, dependencies and cutover steps, and keep stakeholders updated on progress
Security testing and assurance
- Test the security of the new network, identifying weaknesses before and after cutover
- Ensure manufacturing equipment and operational technology are appropriately segmented and protected
- Recommend and, where practical, implement remediations, and leave behind clear guidance on ongoing monitoring and good practice for the team
What We Offer
- Hours: Minimum 25 hours per week; full-time placements considered
- Contract length: 6-month graduate placement
- Salary: At least the National Living Wage, with the potential for a higher salary at the discretion of the host business.

Requirements
Essential
- A degree in cyber security, computer science, networking, or a related STEM discipline
- A solid grounding in networking fundamentals: IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls and VLANs
- Understanding of core security concepts - network segmentation, access control, vulnerability assessment and defence in depth
- Organised and methodical, comfortable documenting work and keeping a project moving
- Clear communication: able to explain risk and technical trade-offs to non-specialist colleagues and to senior decision-makers
- Self-starting and practical, happy to work hands-on across two sites in a small company
- Eligible to work in the UK and able to work on site in Bridgend and Neath
Desirable
- Exposure to operational technology, industrial control systems or manufacturing networks
- Experience with network mapping, discovery or monitoring tooling
- Familiarity with penetration testing or vulnerability scanning tools and methods
- Awareness of recognised frameworks such as Cyber Essentials, NIST CSF or ISO 27001
- Any project management or coordination experience, formal or informal
- Relevant certifications or progress towards them (for example CompTIA Network+ or Security+)
