Finance Systems & Data Analyst
Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid
The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Systems & Data Analyst to join our growing team. This role will focus on finance systems, data management, reporting development, and process automation, helping to improve data integrity, operational efficiency, and decision-making across the business.
The successful candidate will work closely with Finance and operational stakeholders to develop reporting solutions, maintain key systems, improve data quality, and drive automation initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, technology, and continuous improvement projects within a finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Reporting
- Develop and maintain code-based reports within bespoke business systems.
- Extract, manipulate, and analyse large datasets to support business and finance requirements.
- Create and enhance reporting solutions to deliver accurate and meaningful management information.
- Support stakeholders with ad-hoc data requests and analysis.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities through detailed data review.
Finance Systems Administration
- Maintain finance systems and supporting data structures, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Monitor data quality and implement controls to maintain high standards of data integrity.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and system-related issues.
- Support system users with reporting and data-related queries.
- Assist in maintaining system documentation and user procedures.

Systems Development & Implementation
- Support the implementation and enhancement of finance and operational systems.
- Work with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and develop reporting solutions.
- Perform system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Contribute to the ongoing development of bespoke systems and reporting functionality.
- Support integration projects between business systems.
Automation & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop solutions using available technologies and reporting tools to streamline workflows.
- Support wider digital transformation initiatives across the business.
- Leverage emerging technologies, including AI and automation tools, to improve reporting and data management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting, data management, and finance systems.
Documentation & Governance
- Produce and maintain clear process documentation and reporting manuals.
- Ensure data governance procedures and controls are followed.
- Support audit and compliance requirements relating to data and systems.
- Promote best practice around data management and system usage.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in data, systems, reporting, and automation, with strong technical and analytical capabilities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a data, systems, finance systems, reporting, or analytical role.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data manipulation.
Experience with one or more of the following:
- SQL
- Python
- Power BI
- Tableau
- Microsoft Business Central
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience with eFront or other investment management systems.
- Experience working with bespoke or in-house developed systems.
- Understanding of data governance, controls, and data quality management.
- Exposure to automation projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Interest in AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies.
- Experience working within financial services, asset management, private equity, or investment management environments.
